The Ad You Won’t See on TV
2008 Presidential Campaign, Ben Carnes, Democrats, Video
Sometime last week, a story surfaced on Drudge Report, detailing a commercial that was in the works. The commercial supposedly sought to publicly expose ties between Barack Obama and an admitted terrorist. It turns out the commercial has already been released to relatively little fanfare. As I understand it, most, if not all, of the major news networks (including Fox News and CNN) have refused to air the commercial, amid alleged conflicts with campaign finance laws.
The commercial was produced by a group called the American Issues Project and certainly raises some very thought-provoking points.
Without further ado, I present the commercial, entitled “Know Enough…”, for your viewing pleasure:
Ben Carnes @ August 25, 2008
I’ve seen this commercial at least three times on Fox News. I’m in Pennsylvania so perhaps it’s only being played in specific states. I’m glad that there’s a group pointing out Obama’s radical ties. People need to know who this man associates himself with.
Fox News SHOWS are playing the commercial during broadcast minutes. DURING the shows, it’s being played as content and then discussed. But Fox News is not selling air time to the folks who made the ad.
No. I’ve seen them being played during commercial time. Several times. I’ve also seen them discuss the video but I know the difference
This was the source of my claim:

Yeah, I actually saw the same claim reported multiple times by various outlets. Unsurprisingly, when the story was posted on more liberal websites, the response was something along the lines of “Fox News finally makes a correct decision!”
Here it is from an Associated Press story:

My understanding is that the content of this ad was originally brought to light by the book “The Obama Nation” along with many other undesirables that the Obama campaign would prefer to keep under the rug. I’m not sure on the validity of it, as I have not yet read the book myself, but its supposed to be a valid argument based on past associations of Obama.
